First off, with the sounds. I read the Firingsquad review of GT4, and in there they say "engine sounds continue to be superb". HA! None of the engine sounds are even close to being accurate. While we are on sounds. The in game menu music is terrible. with all major games these days including music from well known groups, it is annoying to hear crappy elevator type music repeating over and over again.
Also the driving in the game is next to hopeless. This is the only driving game on the market that i know of where a car can slide out of control at 15mph. Pulling the E-brake instantly locks up your rear wheels. The automatic system for these cars has been programmed to change only at certain speeds. Real automatic cars will change at a certain RPM. So you may find yourself at a starting line with the rear wheels smoking, waiting for the car to reach a speed of 26mph so you can change into 2nd gear and hopefully start moving.
Overall i give this game a 60% rating. And i'm being nice about it too. We had to wait how many months over the original due date for GT4 to come out, and this is what we get? just a prettier version of GT3 with lots more cars. and most of the cars in this game are no fun to drive at all. |
