-FREEDOM of play, do what ever you think is fun.
-Beautiful graphics, is almost as good as real life... : )
| » Cons | | |
-Melee combat doesn't show you how much your enemy has been damaged. Plus, even when it's almost dead it fights like he isn't.

I've been playing oblivion for a few days, I even upgraded my video card and Ram just for her. I think this is the best RPG I've ever played so far. The openness and freedom is overwhelming, they went so far as to make all the chores in any RPGs go away.
Notible are:
Autotravel
The ease of clicking on a map to go to a far away place(some other games has it, but you need some kind of shit portal or spell to travel away. Otherwise you do the chore.
The automaping telling you where all the shops and places are.
The pointer in the compass that directs you to your current active quest's direction. (awesome)
They basically took away the chores that made previous RPG a pain to do and exposes all the fun factors to you.
The other thing is the enormous FREEDOM of gameplay. In previous games, you are given just a few side quests, but in Oblivion, the side quests is probably more numurous than the main story itself! It also depend on what kind of style you play, Fighter, Mage, Thieve, good, evil, explorer. This also makes it very replayable. All of this in a world that doesn't restricts you where you explore at all. From the get go, you can go straight to the edges of the world you're in and start discovering new places.
Right now I haven't even got to the first main story objective yet because I'm seeing too many interesting things while getting to the first objective. I guess I'll do that when I feel like it. |
