Good for non-addicted people

Rating:
93%

» Pros
Large outfits of people (sorta like clans)
Huge battles
Lots of toys
Not stuck into one choice (great for people who can't make up their mind)
Fun if you don't take it too serious
Ratings for those who do take it too serious

» Cons
Bugs are the biggest problem (however, many of them are magically solved if you have 1 gig of ram)
Respawn times

» Review
The game has both pros and cons. Think about it, peole play CS for hours and hours. You spawn, play for 3 mins, die, wait for 2 mins. Respawn. In the grand scheme of things you've accomplished nothing. The only real accomplishment is your money and kill ratio. The same thing sorta applies to this game. It does add Battle Levels and Command Levels. Battle levels let you use more toys at one time, command levels give you cool shit like orbital strikes (wipe out half a base, kinda cool).

PS does a good job of balancing extremely different weapons from the empires (VS, TR, NC have longer names, but you can keep track). The VS basically have flying maxes that can get into annoying places, but they are the weakest. Their best thing though, is they can dodge anti-vehicle weapons fairly easily. The TR empire normally fire faster, but deal less damage and the NC fire slower, but deal more damage per shot.

The game really encourages teamplay; howevre, if you feel like dicking around or whtever, you can be an infiltrator or sniper. Just go around randomly killing lone infantry running from base to base. I also find that the vehicles can be fun in themselves.

As for the bugs, I had 512 megs of ram and a
Radeon 9500 and I kept CTD (crashing to desktop). I turned off fastwrites on my vid card and upgraded to 1 gig and I have not CTD since. So bascially most of the people's major pissed off bugs are just the game is a resource hog. All ya need is a little ram. For gameplay bugs, they are normally solved within 1 week of being found. I believe that within a couple months, they should have the kinks worked out.

One of the biggest pluses to this game is additions they will be making. The developers are adding new vehicles and hopefully new weapons. In addition, they are still tweaking the way xp is earned and such, so there's still changes to be made. This game is best played if you have 2 or so hours to play. You can just log on, cap a few bases, and enjoy.

The biggest problem for many will be the cost. I figure this is 2 trips to McDonald's a month I'll skip. I can handle it, can you?
