Experience: 7 Months - 1 Year | » Pros | | |
works well with most software and games, but needs latest drivers to make the most of it.
quiet.
cheap to buy at about £70-80 /$150
| » Cons | | |
not the fastest card you can buy, but struggles with graphics intensive games like flight sims at high res and half life 2 with heavy shadowing and a lot of action. doesn't do so well with doom 3

the fan let me down after 6-7 months, it was working fine until one day i switched my machine on, and the fan made an awful grinding noise, slowed down dramatically and sounded like a car struggling to get up a steep hill. It needed a tap on the top of the fan itself to try and get it to re-align itself, once done, the fan went back to its normal quiet high speed whirring. This started to happen almost every time the machine was switched on. Eventually i gave up on it and threw the card away 'cos no-one wants a noisy fan inside their machine, epsecially one that sounds like its chewing grit.(the 5700 series is out of production now-didn't seem to last all that long...).
couldn't take it back under warranty 'cos i can't fnd the receipt...
anyone else had the same problem? |
