0.13 micron manufacturing process is better all around for the consumer. The R9600P is geared toward value minded users. With that said, the 0.13 micron manufacturing process lowers power usage, increasing overall stability. Aswell as lower running temperatures. Which further lowers the costs of properly cooling the system, for a value user.
Optimized for, and supports DirectX 9.

The R9500P is at about the same cost. And in most current tests, out performs the R9600P

I don't think alot of people are looking at this card with the long term in mind. This card currently performs slightly slower then the R9500P, in most tests. I say "most" tests because as you saw in this review, it does out perform the R9500P in some cases. As it is the card averages out to be fairly even with the R9500P overall.
This card is still a good performer, and is more then enough to run most of today's games. And I think this is a perfectly good option for value gamers. Even more of an option for one that looks at long term.
I think this card at later dates will pull ahead of the R9500P with newer drivers and future games. Both ATI and nVIDIA have had this problem before. Releasing cards optimized for future technology, that lags behind in current tests. But then blaze ahead once games start using, and supporting it's optimizations.
So I would recommend this card... if your in the market for a new graphic card, and value is a factor. The R9500P may be a good option NOW, but in the long run, I think the R9600P is a much better buy.
I give the card a 90%. A slightly lower mark then the R9500P got at it's release. |

"ATI Radeon 9600 PRO Review" by: JRSuPaStaR The release of the 9600 PRO reminds me a lot of the Radeon 9000 PRO card. Simply put, there was no reason the buy the 9000 Pro card, because the 8500/...more
