Website Profile: 3DXtreme http://www.3dxtreme.net3DXtreme has been online since December of 1998. I don't remember the exact date the site went live but it had the Tazmaniam Devil on it. From there we moved to the Tomb Raider (Lara Croft) Theme and eventually onto something more professional which built the foundation of what 3DXtreme is today. 3DXtreme was started a few days after I purchased a Voodoo 3 2000 Video Card and decided to start editing configs for Glide. There were modded drivers and a few other key 3dfx files/patches we hosted that brought us most of our traffic. From there we started the 3DXtreme Chat Room which was a huge hit and preceeded the idea of website chat rooms at the time. Folks from 3dfxGamers.com filtered in after the 3dfx technical support guys left the forums and went home for the day - that's where we started helping each other and gaining a better understanding of the Voodoo line of products. All in all it was fun and it was a great hobby. The first hardware review ever posted at 3DXtreme was the 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 sent to me by the then 3dfx PR Guru Bubba Wolford. I remember begging him for a few weeks before he agreed to send one out, sorry buddy...but thanks for the opportunity - who would've known! (taken from website) |
